Observing World Food Day
Observing World Food Day
On 16th October, Samtse College of Education observed World Food Day. This event was mainly held to create awareness about the significance of healthy diet and saving water. The event took place at the auditorium with a large number of students, faculty, and the president. A short dramatization was performed by the BASW students highlighting the importance of food and water. Through this play I was aware of challenges that we may face in future if we do not eat nitrous food and manage water. Therefore, I learned that food and water should be used wisely. Closing the taps when not used and eating healthy diet are some of the measures that can be taken to minimize the challenges in future. In addition, a survey conducted by BASW students on eating healthy diet showed that 70 percent of students consume more of junk food than nutrient foods, which may cause eating disorders or other diseases. It was a valuable opportunity to learn about global food issues and how each individual can bring a positive impact.
